Only my sis, #MzMetchi, can get me out of the house after 10:30 p.m. to hang in these streets. If you don't know, my sis and media partner Mz. Metchi owns the #THEBLUEPRINTMEDIA company and hosts one of the hottest livestreams every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. CST. She also specializes in advertising small businesses, voice-overs, and managing content creators and music artists. How does she do it all? I have no idea, but she's been doing it for a solid Five Years, so yeah, we're going outside!
Because I've lived in Lafayette, Indiana, for six years, I was unaware of the Black and Gold Affair or The Promontory located in Hyde Park. My friend Jacynthia and I lucked up and did not have to park in the parking lot. A more significant bonus was the metered parking for free.
After walking in the icy wind, we entered The Promontory and were met with a lengthy line and a tall staircase. The line moved moderately, and burgundy curtains surrounded the floor once we climbed the stairs. My friend and I peeked through the curtain, and the security guard was like, "AHT, AHT."
Once #MzMetchi helped us get to the other side of the curtain, it was a vibe. There were nice little round tables with about 4 to 5 chairs surrounding the dance floor in between, and the DJs were playing all the songs of my college years. My buddies with the drinks loved their margaritas but brought to my attention that it was more a bang for our buck to purchase a liquor bottle over several alcoholic beverages. So, a bottle it was! And all honestly, that bottle lasted us all night.
Believe it or not, if you drink multiple drinks, it's more economical to purchase a bottle, and it's accompanied by lemonade and pineapple juice.

While waiting for the bottle, we took selfies and celebrated with Sis. The DJ was DJing, the acrobat was acrobatting, and the stilt woman was stilting. One thing for sure is The Promontory knows how to party. I had a wonderful time celebrating my sister in media and look forward to celebrating many more with her.
